Top ranked Criollos (11-5) recorded its fifth loss in Quebradillas on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by third ranked Piratas (9-11) 106-82. Quebradillas dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Criollos' 42. Quebradillas looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Caguas' players. The best player for the winners was American center Tai Odiase (206-1995, college: UIC) who scored 23 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). DR Congolese point guard Emmanuel Mudiay (196-1996) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Louis King (201-1999, college: Oregon) who recorded 24 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Quebradillas maintains third position with 9-11 record having two points less than leader Caguas. Caguas at the other side still keep top place with five games lost. Quebradillas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Caguas will play at home against Manati and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Capitanes have a solid four-game winning streak. Arecibo maintains first position with 14-3 record. Santurce at the other side keeps the fifth place with seven games lost. Arecibo will play against Manati (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Santurce will play against San German and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very close game took place in San German between Gigantes and Atleticos. Fifth ranked Gigantes (8-10) got a very close victory on the road over one of their biggest challengers Atleticos (7-13). Gigantes managed to escape with a 2-point win 87-85 in the fight for the fourth place. Brandon Goodwin scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners. The best for the losing side was Nate Mason with 24 points and 6 assists. Atleticos' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place.
